I got in trouble

Today we went shopping with grandma, and I used my carseat. The trouble was it was in the sunlight, so it got really bright and uncomfortable. But there was a nice shady spot on the top of the back seat, but grandma was about to drive. Daddy put a bag up to give me some shade, but then I couldn't see out the window, daddy told me that I had to stay in the seat while we were driving. But I wanted to be out of the sun, but I also wanted to see out the window, and that spot on the back of the seat was perfect. Now daddy is going to shorten the leash so I don't have as much to roam around, daddy is also going to look for a shade that sticks to the window of the car, I can still see out but I'm in the shade.
Long story short, I got in big trouble for misbehaving in grandma's car.

I am really happy, daddy got us our favorite kind of hay (well all but Groucho, but he's weird anyway). We also got more peepads, they go in the bottom of the stroller to.... well, absorb the pee. And two BIG bags of our Martin food. Oh, and he also got NANNERS!!!!!!!!!

So excited

I am so excited right now that I am vibrating. On Friday we are going shopping with grandma, and I'll be riding in my carseat.
But that's not what I am most excited about, no, that happens this weekend. The airshow is in town, and we are going to the CNE to watch it. I love the airshow, the jets are my personal favorite.... daddy's too. I'm not to thrilled with the silly stunt planes though, whiney little engines.
Daddy is hoping that the people with the pepperettes are there again this year, he'd really like to get some that are made from camel and kangaroo.

Oh, and we can now tell you where daddy's uncle is going, it is a little town called Gull Lake, SK. He'll be the managing editor for the Gull Lake Advance newspaper. Daddy did some teaching at the party on Tuesday, a few people were unaware that Saskatchewan gets tornadoes. So daddy showed them where tornado alley is, and where the town is in that area. We here in Toronto are on the far eastern edge, Gull Lake is on the far western edge.
Daddy was also helping grandma find things in the town (using Google maps and streetview), like the police station (the RCMP are the police there, and the station is a house). He also found the nearest airport..... sort of.... it's in Swift Current and has 1 runway.

He is going where to work?

Yesterday me and daddy went to a going away party for one of his uncles, he got a job way over in Saskatchewan, he's going to be managing editor for a small town news paper out there. According to daddy it's mostly flat, with lots of farms. They filmed some of Superman 1 there.
Of course it is a party, so I wanted to get dressed up. So daddy put my highland vest on, with my pirate bandanna... not going to be to fancy.
Daddy also made a going away card, with some sage advice, "remember to always wear boots when in farm country". Uncle Rob, said he already had a pair of boots for just that reason. Hehe.
Daddy also found the town on his phone, and we did a bit of virtual exploring of the town. The town does have a movie theatre, library etc.

That was the most fun me and daddy have had lately, and just what daddy needed to make him happy.

gettin new stuff

Today me and daddy went to Buskerfest, which is for street performers. But our friend from Fancypants kids was there too, and the most oddest thing happened. Last night daddy had a dream about me in another costume type thing, what was weird was that when daddy and our friend got to talking about my cape, she said "it'd be fun to see him in a dragontail". That was what daddy had a dream about, me in one of the dragontails she makes. So she is going to work on that, it may take her a bit but it'll be awesome when it's done.

Me and daddy are going to fanexpo tomorrow, not to go inside (way to expensive), but just to hang out outside and see if we can sell some of daddy's cards, especially the new superhero line of cards. Speaking of which, daddy has moved from doing the DC characters (Batman, Superman etc) to doing Marvel characters (Ironman, Hulk, Spiderman etc).

Now on to some sad news, daddy was looking at his twitter app on his phone and saw a tweet that said Neil Armstrong had died today. Daddy thought very highly of Neil, being that he was the first man to walk on the moon, a place that daddy would like to go to. I'd like to go because of all the dirt that I could dig in, although I don't think there are spacesuits for bunnies, at least not that would allow me to play in the dirt. But just think of the height I could get on my binkies, I've only ever been able to get about 4 feet, and that was when I was little.

Buy cards online

Over the next few weeks we'll be setting up a way to purchase daddy's art online, so that you can buy it and have it mailed to you. I'll be posting a special blog about it when it is all set up.

I'll try to talk to daddy and see if we could do commission work, like greeting cards for specific people.

Got nanners?

Yeah, daddy got me nanners!!!!!! And I'm not going to share any with the humans on the bus.

Not sharing nommies

Me and daddy are on a subway train, and the lady sitting across from us is eating a banana, and she isn't sharing any with me. Nanners is my all time favorite treat. I'm stuck eating cilantro and curly kale. Have to talk to daddy about getting me nanners, on our shopping trip.

Darn wet stuff

Me and daddy went to another festival today, trouble was it would rain for a bit, then stop, then a little while later it would rain again. There was very little warning when it did start to rain, so finally we gave up and came home. I didn't even get chance to turn my stroller lights on, and they're WAY better then for the jazz thing.
Daddy tells me that the festival is called Taste of the Danforth, and celebrates the Greek culture in the city. And it is mostly food, and mostly stuff that neither of us can eat.
We didn't sell any cards, mostly because of the rain, but there is still tomorrow to go.

My grandpa went into the hospital for knee surgery on Friday, and I am told that grandma sent a text to daddy after the surgery was over saying that he was fine. So that makes us happy.

Civic holiday part 2

So I posted that today was a very important date in the history of Canada, today is Simcoe Day, named for the founder of York (now Toronto), and the first Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada (Ontario).

Our current Lieutenant Governor is David C Onley, he wrote a book sometime ago called Shuttle, daddy tells me it's a really good book. Well, I got to meet Mr Onley today, watched some 1812 firepower demonstrations, and wonder through some of the buildings.

Mr Onley is a champion for the disabled (being he is disabled himself), so daddy introduced him to me. And he wanted to know all about me being a service bunny, and the problems that daddy runs into.

During the firepower demonstration it got really weird, the smoke from the muskets blew toward us, and I kid you not, it made both me and daddy hungry.

More muskets firing

Gunsmoke drifting across the field

This is a Rampart gun, daddy says it would be like a 50 caliber sniper rifle of today

This is what the Toronto Islands looked like in 1812

The town of York, Fort York isn't in this picture but it's further off to the west (right side of picture)

Fort York

This picture goes between the other two
It was super fun today, and there is still loads of stuff to come in this month.

Oh, one more thing, I MIGHT be in the Toronto Sun newspaper tomorrow, not sure yet but once we know I'll post a special blog about it.

Meeting important people

Today I got to meet royalty, well okay not quite, but the man I got to meet is the representative of the Queen in Ontario.
His name is David C Onley, he is the Lieutenant-governor of Ontario.
And he is disabled, and because of this he champions for the rights of disabled people in Ontario.
Daddy forgot to bring the book that Mr Onley wrote, and now he is kicking himself for it.
I'll be posting more pictures and some video when we get home and have something to eat, that gunsmoke made both me and daddy hungry.
To tide everyone over until then here are two pictures from today.

Civic Holiday tomorrow

Daddy thought it would be a good idea to explain why tomorrow is so important in this city and province.

Here in Ontario, and Toronto especially the civic holiday is called Simcoe day. John Graves Simcoe was the founder of York (Toronto), and the first Lieutenant-Governor of Upper-Canada (Ontario). This year is even more special being it's the 200th anniversary of the war of 1812.

Tomorrow me and daddy are headed to a very important place in Toronto's history, Fort York, which is one of daddy's all time favorite historic sites.
Daddy (he's the short one to the right), then daddy's cousin, and my Uncle Nick. The uniforms they are wearing were made by my great grand mom.
This picture was taken at the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition).

I can't wait until tomorrow, and the cannons and muskets they don't scare me. I am after all a military brat, and things like that don't scare me anymore. And learning about history can be fun, and we'll post loads of pictures tomorrow.

The two new ratlets are settling in nicely, daddy held his hand out and Donovan put his front paws on daddy's hand and licked it. A sure sign that at least Donovan is coming to see daddy as his daddy.

Ratlet names

As I posted yesterday we had gotten two new ratlets, but we were sort of at a loss for names. Well we have been working over time on getting names for them, and now we can announce their names and show pictures of the new boys.
This is Donovan which is Irish and means 'little dark brown one'
And this is Spot, which is self explanatory, he has a white mark right on top of his head
Spot is the one with the, well, spot on his head, he's also got two light brown spots on his butt.
As for sexing them, well that's WAY easier on a baby rat then say a baby bunny, male rats have BIG um, testicles, and if they don't then they are female. These two are most definitely boys.

Daddy also picked up something yesterday that will make going to the beach WAY more enjoyable for everyone, it is sort of like my tent, only bigger, daddy says it's called a cabana. It folds up and becomes small enough to fit under my stroller, which daddy says makes it easier to transport to and from the beach. We should be getting to try it out soon, daddy talked to my uncle Matthew yesterday, and they are planning a trip to our favorite beach very soon. I love the beach because I get to play in the sand, which is always fun.

New family members

Well here is the announcement everyone has been waiting for, but instead of just one we have two joining us.
As I posted in a previous blog my rat brother Callahan passed over to the rainbow bridge a week or so ago, well we were devastated by his passing and the thing that would cheer daddy up was getting a new rat.
Daddy remembered the cardinal rule of having pet rats, they are happier in multiples, so he got two brothers, their names.... well we haven't figured out names just yet. But we do have some pictures which I'll be posting along with their names.... when we get home and settle the new babies in.
